The history of the Race Trophy
Maximum points in 2017: Markus Reiterberger with Marc Bongers and Uwe Geyer
The Race Trophy was launched in 2014 as a key pillar in the BMW Motorrad Motorsport customer racing programme. Since then, this unique competition unites privateer BMW Motorrad racers from all around the globe. It created a strong worldwide community that continuously grows. The first Race Trophy winner back in 2014 was Markus Reiterberger. He repeated that success in 2017. Back then, Reiterberger achieved the remarkable feat of scoring the maximum number of points possible, courtesy to his pole positions and wins in the International German Championship (IDM). The other Race Trophy winners to date have been: Matthieu Lussiana (2015), Jordan Szoke (2016), Danny Webb (2018) and Davey Todd (2019). In the 2020 season, there has been no Race Trophy ranking due to the Corona pandemic and the resulting race cancellations.
