Most, Czech Republic, 20/07/2016, Alpe Adria Road Racing Championship
Michal Prášek only needed two months to mount a successful defence of his title in the Superstock class of the Alpe Adria Road Racing Championship. In mid-May, his season began on the BMW S 1000 RR at the Slovakia Ring – and the rider for the Rohac and Fejita motoracing teams has now been crowned champion early at his home race in Most, Czech Republic.
It was clear that defending champion Prášek would be one of the favourites for the title this season. Nonetheless, the nature of victory on his RR was more than convincing.
A win and a second place at the season-opener in Slovakia were followed by two wins each at the Pannonia-Ring in Hungary and in Grobnik, Croatia. After these races, Prášek was already so far ahead of the competition in the overall standings that he did not even need to top the podium once again in Most at the weekend.
In the first race in Most, Prášek claimed second place just 0.189 seconds behind his BMW brand team-mate Marcin Walkowiak (Team LRP Poland). He finished the second race in third place – and he was simultaneously the old and the new champion. No-one can catch Prášek at the season finale on 24th and 25th September, at the Slovakia Ring.
