Lynden, Canada, 15/06/2016, Canadian Superbike Championship
A great honour for Canadian BMW Motorrad Motorsport racer Jordan Szoke: The 37-year-old is to be inducted into the Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame. The official ceremony will take place in Toronto in October.
Szoke is the dominant figure in the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK). His championship win last year was the tenth time that he has claimed the title. He produced a perfect performance on his BMW S 1000 RR, winning all seven races. These victories also secured second place for him in the 2015 BMW Motorrad Race Trophy. This year, he is intent on claiming his 11th CSBK title – and started with a win at the opening race of the 2016 season in Shannonville.
The Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame was founded in 1993. Induction into the hall of fame recognises the motorsport achievements of Canadians in car, motorcycle and powerboat racing – such as the Formula 1 world champions Gilles and Jacques Villeneuve, and now Jordan Szoke.
“It is a great honour to be inducted into the Motorsport Hall of Fame,” said Szoke. “It is fantastic to be recognised and honoured, not just by the motorcycle scene but by the whole racing community. Normally you don’t get an award like this until your career is over. But I am still racing and winning – that is something really special.”
