Season finale in Japan

2016 MFJ season draws to a close with two races in Suzuka

The MFJ Superbike All Japan Road Race Championship (MFJ) held its final round of the 2016 season last weekend. The venue for the grand finale was the iconic Suzuka Circuit, southwest of Nagoya, where the Superbike racers faced a final two races.

In total, five BMW S 1000 RR privateers competed at the MJF finale in Suzuka. The best-placed of them was Daisaku Sakai. Within the field of Japanese works teams, he finished 13th and 11th on his RR, run by the Motorrad39 team. Yuta Kodama (team Tras135HP) and Shinya Takeishi (SYNCEDGE 4413 Racing) also picked up points, finishing 14th and 15th in race two.
