A BMW racer caused a stir in the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship at the weekend: after finishing fourth in Saturday’s race, Jordi Torres from the privateer Althea BMW Racing Team battled for the win on Sunday. But on his way to the deserved podium, he was thwarted by a tyre problem through no fault of his own. His team-mate Marco Faccani celebrated a fantastic win in the FIM Superstock 1000 European Championship. And then there were double victories for Kenny Foray in the French Superbike Championship and for Florian Brunet-Lugardon in the French European Bikes Championship, as well as podiums for Michael Rutter and Chrissy Rouse in the Superstock class of the BSB. The weekend’s haul: five wins and a total of ten podiums.
